Contemporary artistic ceramics

Artistic ceramics has evolved from its utilitarian origins to become a contemporary expression that engages with the great challenges of our time. Reborn represents a unique proposal within contemporary pottery, where respect for the planet and the transformation of waste into beauty become the heart of the creative process.

This collection of contemporary art pottery stems from one of the essential values of our work: a deep commitment to nature. In a ceramics workshop, waste is constantly generated—clays, glazes, sediments—that are typically discarded. To prevent this, we have developed a recovery process that transforms these unused materials into pieces of high artistic value. Each work in this contemporary pottery series begins with the careful collection, decanting, and drying of these sediments until obtaining a malleable paste that determines the unique character of each piece.

The recycled material is unpredictable, with an irregular consistency that sets limits and suggests creative paths. This unpredictability is precisely what makes each piece of artistic ceramics an unrepeatable work. Sometimes, the initial idea must be abandoned to allow the material itself to speak and guide the process, resulting in ceramic sculptures that celebrate the spontaneous and organic.

Most pieces are constructed through a personal reinterpretation of the ancient coil technique, a method used since prehistoric times but reinvented for this contemporary art pottery proposal. The process is entirely manual: we form clay coils that we slowly superimpose, joining them with our fingers, and then cover the surface with layers of the same material. We drag small fragments by hand to generate imperfect, organic textures, always guided by touch.

Inspired by the spirit of Japanese kintsugi, many pieces in this contemporary pottery collection incorporate gold leaf details that decorate surfaces, edges and rims, and also highlight cracks and joints, transforming them into elements of value and light. It’s not about hiding imperfection, but revealing it as a fundamental part of the object’s story.

Due to the nature of the recycled material, each piece of artistic ceramics presents stains, cracks, and other irregularities that are part of its identity. The gold finish is delicate and requires specific care. These are not functional pieces nor suitable for holding liquids; their purpose is decorative and contemplative.
Reborn transforms waste into beauty and time into form. Each piece is a transformed vestige, a unique and unrepeatable work of contemporary art pottery that invites reflection on our connection with nature and the value of transformation.
