Corporate gifts from Málaga: handmade ceramics with genuine identity

When a company organises an event in Málaga and wants to give something that means something — something that connects to the place, and that reflects well on the person giving it — handmade ceramics is one of the most coherent answers available. Not because it is traditional, though it is, but because it is one of the few objects that brings together design, process, materiality and origin in a single piece.
At María Monasterio Ceramic Studio, we work with companies from different sectors who arrive looking for exactly that: a gift that does not feel generic, that has visual identity, and that holds its place on the shelf of whoever receives it. The majority of these commissions come from international companies organising conferences, gala dinners or corporate meetings in the city, looking to offer something that is genuinely from here.

Why handmade ceramics work as a corporate gift
The difference between a gift that gets remembered and one that does not usually comes down to the same thing: whether the object has a story behind it. Standard promotional items — pens, notebooks, printed mugs — serve a function, but they rarely generate lasting memory. A piece of ceramics that has been hand-built and hand-painted occupies a different place: it has imperfections that make it singular, it has real weight in the hands, and it comes from a specific place and a specific person.
For a company that wants to communicate values like quality, sustainability or attention to detail, this kind of commission is also an exercise in consistency. The gift speaks the same language as the brand.

What we offer for corporate commissions
At María Monasterio Ceramic Studio, we work with tableware and small decorative objects designed in the studio. We do not have a specific corporate gift catalogue, but we do have a wide range of models that serve as the starting point for each commission: bowls, plates, cups, jugs and decorative pieces, all hand-built and hand-painted.
Each piece can incorporate, alongside the studio’s mark, the logo of your company. Everything is produced using the studio’s own ceramic processes: no digital printing, no vinyl, no screen printing. Whatever appears on the piece has been made by hand, just like the rest of it.
If needed, pieces can be delivered in individual cardboard boxes, making them ready to give without any additional preparation — just let us know when placing the order.

Budget and quantities
Not every company has the same kind of event or the same recipient in mind. A gift for fifty conference attendees is a different proposition from a detail for ten key clients. That is why the process always begins with a conversation: what do you want to communicate, how many people is it for, what is the budget per unit, and what is the timeline.
With that information, we can suggest the most suitable models and adjust the design if needed.
Production timelines
Handmade ceramics are not produced overnight. Each piece goes through several stages — hand-building, drying, first firing, decoration, glazing and second firing — and none of these can be rushed without affecting the result.
For corporate commissions, the minimum production lead time is eight weeks, though this may vary depending on volume and the complexity of the design. It is important to factor this in when planning the event in advance.
If you are organising something and do not yet have a fixed date, now is a good time to get in touch and begin the conversation.
A gift with provenance
Málaga has a ceramic tradition that goes back to the medieval period, when Málaga’s gilded pottery was known across Europe. Today that tradition coexists with contemporary ceramic studios working from an entirely different perspective: original design, artisan production, and a visual language that does not seek to reproduce the past but to build something new from the same material.
Giving a piece made in Málaga, by a ceramicist from Málaga, is a way of anchoring the gift to the place where the event takes place. It is something the recipient can take home — to Frankfurt, to Amsterdam, to London — and that will continue to say something about that trip long afterwards.

How the process works
- Initial contact. Tell us about the event, the approximate number of pieces, the budget per unit and the timeline. With that information, we assess whether the commission is feasible and propose options.
- Model selection and design. You can browse the pieces available in our online shop to get a sense of the models and finishes. From there, we define the final design together, including how the logo will be incorporated.
- Production. Once the commission is confirmed, production begins. We will keep you updated on progress.
- Delivery. Pieces are delivered ready to gift. Individual cardboard boxes are available on request — just mention it when confirming the commission.
If you are organising an event in Málaga or looking for a corporate gift that has something to say, get in touch. Tell us about your project and we will work out what we can do together.
